Maureen has lived in Crested Butte for 20 years. She has enjoyed working on various boards and committees including the Gunnison Trails Commission (six years), the Gunnison County Environmental Health Board (four years), High Country Conservation Advocates (six years) and the Crested Butte Public Policy Forum Executive Committee (10 years). Maureen seeks quiet recreation and solitude in the backcountry, either hiking during the summer or Nordic skiing in the winter.
John Ellis has served on the Silent Tracks Board of Directors since 2015. He is a retired attorney, having practiced in the District of Columbia and in Virginia for over 45 years. He and his wife, Mary, purchased property in the town of Crested Butte in 1993, and since then have skied, hiked and biked the surrounding areas whenever possible.
Bill retired in 2008 and moved with his wife Deidre to Crested Butte South in 2010. He enjoys quiet outdoor activities such as Nordic skiing, hiking and backpacking. Bill works part time as a kid’s ski instructor at CBMR and is also on the board of directors of the CB South Metropolitan District. Bill holds an associate of science degree in construction engineering technology, a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and a master of science degree in structural engineering.
Cathy has been a Silent Tracks board member since its inception in 2015. She is a Colorado native and has lived in Gunnison County since 1994. She was the Executive Director at the CB Nordic Council from 1994-2000. She has degrees in botany and gerontology and professional expertise as a secondary science teacher and as an environmental consultant. She is an avid outdoor recreationist and loves hiking, mountain and road biking, backpacking, and all types of skiing.
Jordan is new to Crested Butte as of August 2018. She grew up near Cleveland, Ohio, in the Cuyahoga Valley, and got her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Sociology from CU Boulder. You can find her around town doing any number of jobs, including snowboard instructing or dog walking. What she enjoys most, however, is time spent working with Silent Tracks and having the chance to be involved in Winter Travel Management Planning, among the first of its’ kind!
